Davide Lombardo is the deputy head of the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP) Task Force in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for the EU Budget. In this capacity he helps oversees the implementation of the STEP initiative within the European Commission and with its partners (both Member State authorities and financial implementing partners, such as the EIB and national development banks). Previously he worked on the performance framework for the EU budget, and in the Directorate General for Financial Stability of the European Commission. Before joining the European Commission, Mr. Lombardo was with the International Monetary Fund. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Stanford University.
